All sites have rules and we are no different. These rules are designed to allow plenty of freedom in playing while providing protection to the environment of the site. Rules will be enforced. The Staff will make the necessary adjustments that is best for the site, and that may include immediate banning. If you have any questions and/or concerns please feel free to PM the Head Admin.
All members must create a Player Account. A Player Account will act as your main account where you will coordinate plotting and communication with other members about your character(s). Player Accounts do not participate in RPing and do not need to make an application; this is only for Character Accounts. In order to create a Player Account, just make a new account. You can switch between your Player Account and Character Accounts by clicking on Switch Account in the bottom right hand corner of the site (it scrolls with the site and works with Proboards).
We do not encourage OOC (Out Of Character) disruptions in threads, boards, posts, or in the Shoutbox. This includes venting, arguing, fighting, etc. in an unnecessary and inappropriate manner. If you have a problem with something, please take it to a PM (Personal Owl).
SWEARING
This site is rather relaxed when it comes to swearing. Please try to keep it to a minimal on the site. We do want to make it comfortable for everyone. Just like fighting, warnings will be given for excessive swearing, even if it is a part of your character.
STAFF
The site Staff is composed of the Head Admin and approved members of the site. You can locate a list of staff members at the @you page. Staff members have the power to settle disputes, provide punishments, and organize site events. (Code Phrase 1: Long Live...)
SHOUTBOX
The Shoutbox is the real-time general discussion area for site members. Do not include information that involves inappropriate material including lewdness or sexually charged material. Absolutely no bullying in the Shoutbox. Please be aware children can see the Shoutbox as well as new members, it is not attractive for the site to have inappropriate behavior in the Shoutbox.
SPAMMING
There will be no spamming on this site either in the Shoutbox, thread or via PM unless approved by the Staff or in the specially designated Advertisement Board.
GRAPHICS
Any graphics that feature nudity, sexual references, extreme violence, profanity, etc. are prohibited at this site. We do not allow members to have signatures for their characters, however you can post graphics for your character in their plot page.
KILLING OTHER CHARACTERS
Your character cannot murder another character unless you have their full permission. Also, characters who have been killed cannot be brought back to life.
POSTING
Please refer to our Thread Characteristics FAQ for information.
APPLICATIONS
All new applications must be completed within 7 days and created in the Pending Characters board. If you have completed your application and it has not be approved, please PM the Head Admin.
RELATIONSHIPS, MARRIAGE & CHILDREN
Everyone wants a good relationship, it causes drama and gives our characters something to do. Canon marriages to non-canon characters is prohibited unless approved by the Staff.
WIZARDING MONEY
Wizarding money transactions are possible here. We do not have them on the Side bars like other sites, but when you are RPing and you wish to use money, you may do so. Here is an excellent site to use for transactions. Wizard Money to Real Money (this is only for British Wizard Money), there is no conversion calculator for the American currency called Dragots (we will assume that 1 Dragot = 1 US Dollar).
SITE EVENTS AND ACTIVITY
During the site's life there will be moments where we will host Site Events. These events can include hero quests, attacks, rescues, etc. and will be built up through Event Threads. Those key characters involved in Event Threads must remain active during the progression of the Site Event. If your character is included in a Site Event and you go inactive in any fashion, Staff will provide an explanation for your character's absence. Upon returning, your character MUST accept all consequences of the thread (including the explanation for your character's absence). Your character, however, cannot be killed and the explanation will be approved by the Head Admin or another Staff Member. If you plan on being inactive for any reason, fill out the Absentee Application.
STAFF DISCLAIMER
Please be aware that the Staff reserve the right to question anything about your participation at this site. If we feel that your student character is using magic far beyond their ability, we will tell you to tone things down. (Code Phrase 2: Grindelwald!) We do not tolerate Mary Sues or Gary Stus in any form (unless they are canon). We will PM you with anything that we might have an issue with and we will be civil and respectful; we only ask that you be the same towards us.
PUNISHMENTS
The Staff do not prefer to punish members or visitors, however it is a necessary part of site maintenance. If someone has committed an act that a Staff member deems punishable, the case will be discussed among the Staff and a punishment given. Punishments include warning, suspension of playing rights, or outright banning from the site for a period of between 1 half day to forever. Visitors to the site who must be punished will have their IP Addresses logged and banned, repeat offenders will be reported to Proboards.
CANON MATERIAL
Canon is a term reserved for material that the site draws from in order to make the site work. For this site, the primary canon material will be material taken from the books, writings, video games, etc. related to Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts. However, site staff will decide on a case-by-case basis which material would be deemed uncanon for the site. Please refer to our FAQ on Canon Material.
