There was a time when wizards ruled the earth. A time where they walked like titans among the muggles, never fearing a sword or cord of burning wood. A time when the wizards did not have to scrap by in secrecy, fearing for their lives from the pathetic sub creatures known as muggles. This imbalance led to disorders, societal cancers that ate away at the very fabric of society. The wizards had built a might house and the muggles were devouring it like termites. Grindelwald wanted to bring balance to the imbalance and order to chaos. It was his destiny.
The holding cell that MACUSA had provided for him was entirely unacceptable. The interior of the walls were a mottled grey affair that smelled of industrial solvent. Engraved upon the walls were runes in fabulous patterns that Grindelwald surmised were some sort of runic holding spell to prevent people from getting in or out without permission. Grindelwald smirked when he saw the runes, knowing that they would not be enough. Ideas could not be caged, no matter the power of the enchantment. Grindelwald would be free soon and he would return to business at hand.
Inset into the wall was a single viewing window that visitors used to peer at their captive. Grindelwald stood at the window, staring down the long hall that led into other cells and into the belly of MACUSA. Dumbledore would come soon; Grindelwald knew that when Newt appeared, Dumbledore would not be far. They had unfinished business. In the meantime, patience was what guided Grindelwald. Soon, the chance he had been waiting for would arise and the world would know of his ideas. MACUSA was foolish to think they could hold such a man. This was all part of the plan.
